For many multi-state employers, finding accurate employment law information is time-consuming and costly, often requiring hours of manual research or expensive legal counsel.
In fact, in recent benchmarking we conducted, we found the average HR team spends nearly 47 hours per month on employment compliance work alone—with teams that operate in more than five U.S. states spending 3.6x as much time on compliance as teams in five or fewer states.
Today, that all changes.
I’m excited to announce the launch of SixFifty AI—a first-of-its-kind research tool that increases the accessibility of our industry-leading employment law information database.
What is SixFifty AI?
SixFifty AI simplifies the process of employment law research by delivering plain-language answers in seconds—sourced from our database of up-to-date employment law summaries.
We’ve dedicated years to summarizing and organizing employment laws across the country into the most comprehensive database of employment law information in the country. With SixFifty AI, you can now quickly find clear, straightforward answers to your most common questions.
SixFifty AI offers nationwide coverage, spanning all federal laws, all 50 states, D.C., and major cities. It provides immediate answers across thousands of topics, including:
- Hiring: Pay transparency, drug testing, notices, posters, and training;
- Leave and EEO policies: FMLA, paid leave, sick leave, accommodations, and protected characteristics;
- Wage and hour: Overtime, minimum wage, and pay frequency;
- Separation: Final paycheck requirements, WARN Act, and more.
How does SixFifty AI work?
Unlike other generic legal research tools that utilize generative AI chatbots to source potentially unreliable sources, SixFifty AI stands out through its use of retrieval augmented generation (RAG) to source responses from SixFifty’s database of up-to-date legal information—with entries drafted and vetted entirely by human employment lawyers.
This intentional decision to source SixFifty AI’s responses from our own knowledge base (rather than solely relying on publicly available sources that may be out-of-date at any given time) helps us improve accuracy and reduce the chance of hallucinations found in many generative AI tools.
Each query answered by SixFifty AI also includes links to source entries in SixFifty’s Research module so users can verify the accuracy of the response for themselves.
By combining large language models (LLMs) with our proprietary knowledge base, SixFifty is able to offer customers reliable and secure generative AI. And this is just the start.
What’s next for SixFifty AI?
While SixFifty AI is still in its early stages, we are actively enhancing its capabilities to help companies take a more proactive approach to employment law compliance.
Future updates will include advanced features like AI-assisted document generation and access to more in-depth legal content.
SixFifty AI is currently in beta and is available for free for customers. Companies looking for immediate access to SixFifty AI can sign up today for a subscription. To learn more, visit https://www.sixfifty.com/sixfifty-ai.
