What is ELIP?
SixFifty is proud to release Phase 1 of the Employment Law Informatics Project (ELIP). This new initiative is designed to catalog, summarize, and encode the logic of every employment law in the United States, making this complex legal area accessible for academic research and practical business use.

What's included in the database
Attorneys at SixFifty researched each topic, drafted plain-language summaries, and labeled and coded the entries. Users can search the data of over 4,000 unique summaries by (1) filtering and sorting the information by a variety of fields or (2) using a generative-AI powered search to query the data.
Why ELIP Matters

Employment law is impactful
It touches the lives of hundreds of millions of people and plays a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s economy.
Employment law is large
Spanning federal, state, and local levels, employment law is one of the most expansive and rapidly evolving areas of law.
Employment law is changing
The pandemic reshaped workforce dynamics, sparking significant legal developments that require analysis and understanding.
Free access for academic institutions
In the spirit of advancing academic research, SixFifty is offering free access to ELIP for academic institutions.
Just as projects like the Comparative Constitutions Project revolutionized constitutional law studies, ELIP aims to shed light on previously inaccessible areas of employment law. This data will empower scholars to conduct data-driven research and generate impactful insights.
