New Tool Helps Organizations Plan and Implement Compliant Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs

SALT LAKE CITY, October 7, 2020 — SixFifty, the technology subsidiary of the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, today announced a new automated diversity, equity, and inclusion platform to help organizations (1) assess their diversity and inclusion efforts, (2) create a plan of action, and (3) generate the supporting policies and paperwork to get the program off the ground. SixFifty developed the new offering in collaboration with the employment attorneys at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, recognized as one of the most diverse law firms in the U.S., to help organizations navigate the legal issues associated with a diversity and inclusion program and better understand best practices.

“Most organizations want to increase the diversity and inclusion of their workforce but don’t know where to start,” said Kimball Dean Parker, CEO of SixFifty. “We worked with the employment experts at Wilson Sonsini to think through the key points that organizations need to consider in order to implement a compliant and successful diversity and inclusion program. We then automated that expertise in order to lower the time and cost for organizations to get started.”

SixFifty’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion platform takes business leaders through a series of questions regarding the important considerations, legal and otherwise, involved in implementing a diversity and inclusion program. The automation system then produces an assessment and plan of action that businesses can use to guide their path forward. The answers to those questions are also leveraged to create customized policies and supporting employment paperwork that organization’s need to communicate their plans to employees and to get their program up and running.

SixFifty also offers an online questionnaire system to help companies confidentially collect and catalogue comments and concerns from employees regarding the company’s diversity and inclusion efforts. All actions and communications in the questionnaire system are logged so that employers have a record of their efforts to keep the workplace safe and welcoming.

“When forming a diversity and inclusion program, employers need to take into account guidance and requirements from all levels of government,” said Marina Tsatalis, employment law partner at Wilson Sonsini. “We are working with SixFifty to prepare the policies and plans of action and to keep them updated and current as the legal landscape evolves in this area.”

SixFifty’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion tool is the latest in a series of products. SixFifty has released to help businesses and people handle situations that can be tricky legally. SixFifty offers products that help companies with privacy compliance (GDPR and CCPA) and employment issues related to COVID-19 (telecommuting and return to work).
